sound listening corporation was founded
in phoenix, arizona, by billie thompson, ph.d. who has worked
in the field of sound listening training since 1986.
billie m. thompson, ph.d. is president
of sound listening corporation and an international leader
in the emerging field of listening technologies. she founded
and directed five sound listening & learning centers and
did outreach programs in 30 cities to provide listening programs
to over 6,000 families (1986 - 2003). dr. thompson trained
with dr. tomatis and edited english translations for two of
tomatis’ books, the conscious ear and the
ear and language. she was the founding president of the
international association of registered certified tomatis
consultants (2001-2004), editor of the first ricochet
journal of tomatis method research, and the first us trainer
for the tomatis method.
with don campbell, she co-facilitated power of sound workshops
for six years. her ph.d. is from arizona state university.
she is certified in enlisten®, rubenfeld synergy method®,
nlp, and structure of intellect. she is a past president of
the arizona association for gifted and talented and provides
a range of evaluations, programs, and referrals for those
whose abilities range from gifted and average to those with
special needs. her experience includes working with over 2,000
autistic children and some adults with adequate to extraordinary
results.
dr. thompson’s main pursuit is to further develop each
person’s potential through enhanced listening by doing
the following:
- providing enlisten® professional training to professionals.
- providing enlisten® listening programs to individuals
and groups.
- expanding the use of enlisten® programs by developing
a worldwide team of enlisten® licensed professionals,
professional trainers, and mentors.
- establishing research opportunities.
- writing and presenting information about enlisten®.
kirk d. thompson, ph.d., p.e.
is vice president of sound listening corp. and president of
quincy street corporation®, a software development and
engineering consulting company founded in 1976. he is the
creator of enlisten® and provides technology training
for enlisten® professionals. he is a frequent presenter
at conferences and serves on several engineering standards
boards. his ms is from mit and his ph.d. from arizona state
university.
